I was at the train crossing on Bishop Avenue last Tuesday. The gates went down at 1:11 and the train didn’t come until 1:16. The traffic was backed up to Bishop and Broadway. Do we really need to sit there five minutes until the train comes? This is ridiculous. FRUSTRATED

BAN THE DRUGS

We have some lawmakers and other politicians in our country who want to legalize drugs. Here’s one example why not to legalize drugs: We already have all opiates that are legal and look at the death and all the destruction it caused us, plus increased the drug epidemic. So why should we legalize other drugs that are just going to poison our country and our children? Wake up, you idiot politicians, and think of the people’s lives, not just the tax dollars. Yeah, I saw a television commercial that said Trump’s tax plan would increase taxes on the middle class. Don’t fall into this trap – that’s propaganda from crying Chuck Schumer and the Democrats. Trump’s tax plan will be a huge relief for the middle class. Trust me. TRUMP 2020

BEG FOR HELP

To “We Want Wally,” the real problem is that anyone would see Jimmy Kimmel as any kind of Cronkite-esque “conscience of America.” With every social and political issue he’s opened his mouth on he’s spout out some kind of emotionallydriven nonsense with little or no basis in reality. Frankly, that’s what we should getting back to in this country – people voluntarily looking out for the good of one another, and not relying on government bureaucrats to somehow get the job done.

GRAB THOSE GUNS

Chris Freind is correct that gun bans won’t stop the mass murders. However, an assault weapons ban does more than make me feel good. It would limit the amount of carnage these maniacs cause. Only an assault weapon or device that make a gun turn into an assault weapon could shoot over 500 people in a short period of time, and that’s what happened in Las Vegas.

THE YELLOW GOP

A Republican strategist said the biggest casualty of the Trump presidency is political courage on the Republican side, because these people are so afraid of losing their jobs that they won’t come out and admit the truth that everybody with a brain knows: Trump is totally unqualified to be president and he is dangerous for our country.

SWAMP THINGS

The news that lobbyists are growing under the Trump administration proves that Trump is not draining the swamp at all, in fact Trump is immersed in the swamp. But the truly stupid this country would refuse to believe that because they are truly stupid.

“What Language!” has a point that maybe JFK, LBJ and Nixon equaled or exceeded Trump’s vulgarity, but one thing they can never equal or exceed is his stupidity.

VOX GETS IT RIGHT

For the most part I’ll agree with the callers saying that gun control brings out leftists’ most vacuous and ignorant arguments, but I will give credit where credit due: Last week, I surprised to see Vox, of all online publications, actually had an article admitting that the NRA doesn’t donate that much money and to politicians and that its power comes from its membership and ability to mobilize said membership. PRESIDENT BIZARRO

The fact that Donald Trump is always on Twitter and the fact that he’s the leader of the free world doesn’t seem to strike anybody as really bizarre behavior. Well, I must speak up then, because it is really bizarre behavior for the leader of the free world to constantly be on Twitter. No other world leader is on Twitter like that. And of course Trump supporters don’t see anything different at all about him being on Twitter all the time, because their behavior is just as bizarre as Trump’s.
