STICKS AND STONES
Again I’m reading Sound Off and people are calling President Donald Trump ignorant, uneducated, stupid, a moron and a whole plethora of unsavory names. It’s funny because there’s a good possibility that these people sit on their sofa, drink beer, call Sound Off and complain about it instead of actually getting up and doing something to improve the country. They’d rather sit there and call the president names. I find that extremely pathetic. A COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER
GETTING BUGGED
What are those black and red little bugs that are on the outside of my door and screens? There must be hundreds of them. The windows are covered. I don’t know where they came from and I don’t know how to get rid of them. Does anybody else know? Thank you.
DON’T BUY DRUGS
Drug dealers are a problem; to me they’re the worst people on earth. But you also have to think about the people who buy the drugs. If didn’t buy the drugs, the drug dealer would not be in business. And I know they’re addicted, but there are many people who got off of that. I know some. They have gone straight – no more drugs, no more buying drugs. So the sooner more people stop buying the drugs, the sooner the drug dealers are go out of business, and that’s a fact.
FEEL THE GLOW
To “The Crab Man,” I know they’ve done some serious cleaning over in the years with the Delaware, but do you really want to be out there that far down the river? I still can’t figure out there haven’t been more people over the years walking around glowing like some ‘50s sci-fi movie character from hanging out at the West End and Alpha boat clubs back in the day.
OPEN YOUR MOUTH
To “Disgusted with the System,” the problem with the system is parking lots are considered private property by law. So in order for the police to ticket violators of any parking violations, including parking in a fire lane, the parking lot owners have to call the police and give them permission to ticket those violators. So next time, whichever store you are patronizing, ask for the manager and complain or call the news and get them to do a story on the violators. Otherwise, get used to non-handicapped people parking in handicap spots.
GLUTTONS OF GREED
Even though the figures are in about the Republican tax cuts, the truly stupid in this country are absolutely giddy about that lousy $600 they’re going to be getting back, when the rest of the tax plan is geared towards giving multi-millions back to the super rich in this country. This kind of greed by the rich and idiocy by the masses reflects very poorly on our country.
IT’S GENETIC
Yeah, this is “Money Talks.” You’re a complete idiot. Look at Steve Jobs, look at Joe Biden’s son – they both died young and he couldn’t have a better health insurance. My uncle is 94 years old and he never spent a day in the hospital. It’s all in the genes, baby. TRUMP 2020
BITTER JODINE
Each day we have new information coming out about the phone call between Trump and the Gold Star widow, but Jodine Mayberry thought she had enough information last week to write about it for last Friday’s paper. Was she yet another person who happened to be listening in on this phone call? I liked reading Jodine’s columns when the Times ran her years ago but when they brought her back a couple years ago and now it’s it seems she’s another one of these Baby Boomer liberals who are bitter because they refuse to accept that the pipe dreams of the ‘60s weren’t such good ideas after all.
WHO BENEFITS?
An article in the Times about the pipeline mentioned the fact that Middletown could use eminent domain to seize the land. When I was growing up, I remember eminent domain was never used because of the fact that to use eminent domain and seize land, it would have to be proven that everybody would benefit from the seizure of this land. Now elected officials don’t care if it’s better for everybody. This pipeline is clearly benefiting Sunoco and Sunoco employees only. ONE WHO KNOWS
