- GOOD LUCK TO THAT

THE WEATHERMAN

“Stormy Weather” made me stop and think. All these weather people today want to be referred to as meteorologists and have all this other pomp and circumstance. Meanwhile, Wally Kinnan was a war hero, pioneering military meteorologist and MIT graduate who had no problem with the on-camera name and persona of “Wally Kinnan ‘The Weatherman.’”

GOP RULES

“Heads Up” is another typical right-wing moron who’s blaming the school board for having to raise taxes to educate our children, because “Heads Up” is one of these people who keeps voting Republican and Republicans at the state and federal level do nothing but cut education funding year after year after year. So it’s your fault that you have to pay more in local taxes. So blame no one but yourself.

TAKE IT TO BANK

I see another big mouth Republican is in Sound Off running their mouth about the banks and sticking up for them. What else is new about the Republican Party? All they do is take up for the big rich banking system, the oil companies, big rich pharmaceutical companies and so on. You know who they’re for? Big rich corporate America. They’re never for the middle class or the poor man. It’s typical of the Republican Party. They’re nothing but a losers’ party. I wouldn’t vote for one if you paid me. As far as I’m concerned, the Democrats are for the people, by the people – the working peo- ple and poor people.

LIFE’S A GAS

To the callers who complains about today’s plastic cars, compared to the steel and chrome of the old days: The reason for plastic is government regulations for fuel economy. Plastic weighs less so the cars get better mileage. You need to complain to Congress, which is an entirely lost cause and an exercise in futility.

FREIND-LY FIRE

Chris Freind last opinion “Why President Trump should offer pardon to Hillary Clinton” shows what a complete numbskull he is. How can you offer a pardon to someone who has never been charged with a crime, but then again Chris Freind always make absolutely no sense like all Republicans make absolutely no sense.

CAR CRAZY

I have some strange respect for the stubbornness of these callers insisting how great cars from 60 years ago are, in spite of how others have repeatedly called in about how unsafe and inefficient cars coming out of Detroit back then were (although I will admit they look good and flooring it with a huge straight-8 engine is a lot of fun). Since this caller likes old stuff so much: You remember “Sunset Boulevard” with Bill Holden and Gloria Swanson from 1950? Remember how she talks about his Plymouth as “one of those cheap things made of chromium and spit” when she’s showing him the Isotta Fraschini? Take off the rose colored glasses.

IT’S ALL LIES

“Concerned Readers” said that more details came out about the Steele dossier and the uranium scandal. I’d like to know where these details came from. If they came from right-wing outlets who do nothing but lie, you’re wasting your time. I haven’t seen anything about the Steele dossier or the uranium scandal on any of the major news networks like ABC, CBS or NBC, but of course you would likely call them “fake news.”

MORE ON OBAMAS

Hey “Mr. Tom In Linwood,” don’t you realize it was OK for the IRS to target conservative groups because they were just do- ing their part in moving the country forward under President Obama – who, by the way, was by far our most intelligent president ever? I’m sorry that you’re not as enlightened as some people and can’t understand that. I’m also sorry that we’re rolling back the properly informed decision-making that made Michelle Obama proud of her country for the first time in her adult life.

GENUINE FOLKS

To “Dynamic Duo,” I’ve never agreed with Biden on anything and I think W. peaked too early during his governor years, but they both seemed like genuine people. That’s isn’t something we have much of anymore. Trump definitely has some genuine moments – unfortunately it shows the kind of guy sitting at the end of a Queens bar.
