Dorothy J. DeLue, a longtime resident of Glen Mills, age 88, died peacefully on November 2, 2017 at her home with loved ones by her side.

Born in 1929 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island the daughter of English immigrants, Edward and Ellen Hodson. Dorothy was one of seven siblings and is also the mother of seven children.

Dorothy was predecease­d by the love of her life and best friend, Joseph DeLue Jr., whom she married in 1952. They were happily married for 55 years, enjoying camping, traveling, hosting family gatherings and dancing the jitter bug.

Dorothy loved raising her family, being a wife, mother, grandmothe­r and great grandmothe­r. She delighted in all music, playing the organ, guitar and often initiated musical parades with her young children and grandchild­ren. She was an avid seamstress and skilled at crocheting. She found extreme joy and happiness in living life and spending time with her family. She was fun loving, welcoming and a best friend to all those who loved her.

SURVIVORS: her children: Ellen DeLue, Joseph DeLue, Elaine Argo (Edward), Edward “Ted” DeLue (Catherine), Carolyn Dell’Arciprete (Ralph), Stephen DeLue (Virginia), Michael DeLue. grandchild­ren: Jason and Matt Argo, Allison DeLue, Alicia and Danielle Dell’Arciprete, Michael and Jackie DeLue, Twyla, Tina, Trina, and Eric Gordon and Angelina and Lilliana DeLue. sisters-in-law: Margie Hodson, Anne Yerman and Mary Kensek. As well as many great grandchild­ren and great great grandchild­ren.

VISITATION: Tuesday 6:00-8:00 pm at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA, and Wednesday 10:00-10:45 at Chichester United Wesleyan Church 5151 Chichester Ave. Upper Chichester PA.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday at 11:00 am at Chichester United Wesleyan Church.

BURIAL: St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery, Glen Mills.
