Hossler, Spaun share lead in breezy Vegas

2071BEAU LAS VEGAS » Beau Hossler and J.J. Spaun shared the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open lead Saturday after another breezy day at TPC Summerlin.

Hossler birdied the par-4 15th and 18th holes for a bogey-free 5-under 66. Spaun, the leader after the completion of the second round in the morning, bogeyed the par-3 17th and saved par on the 18th for a 73.

They were at 9-under 204, three strokes ahead of Tony Finau (69). Tom Hoge (67), Gary Woodland (68), Chesson Hadley (69) and Patrick Cantlay (70) were 5 under. IBARAKI, JAPAN » Defending champion Shanshan Feng of China fired a 9-under 63 to take a two-stroke lead after the second round of the LPGA Tour’s Japan Classic.

Feng carded seven birdies and an eagle at the Taiheiyo Club to move to 15-under 129, two strokes ahead of Japan’s Ai Suzuki, who was in sole possession of second place after a 65.

Tennis: Krajinovic upsets Isner

PARIS » Qualifier Filip Krajinovic reached the Paris Masters final after upsetting John Isner 6-4, 6-7 (2), 7-6 (5) on Saturday.

Isner was also playing for a berth in the elite eightman ATP Finals, and that ended, too.

“When I served for the match my hand was shaking,” Krajinovic said. “... Best day in my life but the tournament is not over yet.”

NFL: Browns give Thomas $3M raise

CLEVELAND » Injured Pro Bowl tackle Joe Thomas has received a $3 million raise from the Cleveland Browns.

Thomas recently had surgery for a season-ending triceps injury. A team spokesman said the Browns had agreed to the pay bump before Thomas, a 10-time Pro Bowler, was injured and they’ll stick to their plan.

Thomas will get a $1.5 million roster bonus this season and a $1.5 million increase to his 2018 salary, pushing it to $10.3 million. ASHBURN, VA. » DeAngelo Hall was just waiting for the call, and the Washington Redskins really need him at the moment.

The Redskins activated the veteran defensive back off the physically unable to perform list, and he could make his season debut Sunday at Seattle. Hall hasn’t played since Week 3 of the 2016 season after tearing the ACL in his right knee.
