William N. Cousin

William N. “Bill” Cousin, age 90, a longtime resident of Essington, Pa., passed away on October 27, 2017 at Crozer-Keystone Hospice Residence at Taylor Hospital with his wife of 65 years, Marjorie, by his side.

Bill was born and raised in Chester. He was drafted into the U.S. Army while still in high school. He served as a military policeman in the Philippine­s and Korea.

Upon returning home he received his GED and worked at Westinghou­se before being employed at the Essington Post Office for many years.

He enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, and watching sports and the History Channel and going to Delaware Park.

Bill was predecease­d by his parents, William and Beatrice Cousin; his sister, Dawn Van Kleek; and his daughter, Janice D. Heffner (by 10 years and a day).

Surviving members of his family along with his wife are daughters, Karen of Wilmington and Iris of Essington; his son-in-law, William Heffner of Media; his three grandchild­ren, Bill, Mike, and Stef; and his great-granddaugh­ter, Elanor.

His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 11th, at 11 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, 16 W. Third Street in Essington, Pa. 19029.

There will be a visitation time on Saturday from 10:30 A.M. to 11 A.M. at the church.

His burial will follow in the Memorial Garden of the church immediatel­y following the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons made in Bill’s memory to St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church at the above address or to the American Lung Associatio­n, 527 Plymouth Road, #415, Plymouth Meeting, Pa. 19462 would be appreciate­d by his family.
