Alfred J. “Sandy” Ralston, 87 of Claymont, DE died November 7, 2017 at Forwood Manor. Born and raised in Chester, he was the son of the late James E. and Mary Ralston and moved to his current residence in Claymont, DE 17 years ago. Sandy was a graduate of Chester High School, class of 1948 and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was employed by Sun Oil Company for 48 years before retiring in 1997 and was a member of the Sapphire Club for retirees. Sandy was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church. He enjoyed baseball, old westerns and dancing the Mummers Strut, but most important was his family.

Sandy was preceeded in death by his wife of 64 years, Rose Marie Buffington Ralston, who died January 11 2016, and his siblings Helen, Mildred, James, Anna, John and Betty.

Sandy is survived by his children Irene Cullin (William), Rosemary Adamczyk (Edward), Alfred J. Ralston Jr. and Dianne Conrad (Michael): His grandchild­ren William Cullin Jr., Christophe­r P. Ralston (Amanda), Edward J. Adamczyk (Stephanie), Shawn F. Cullin and Rev Kyle M. Adamczyk. His great grandchild­ren Aiden, Tyler, Ella, Edward, Maximus, Peyton and Benjamin.

The Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 208 Milmont Ave, Milmont Park PA 19033 at 10:30AM Saturday, November 11 2017. Visitation will be from 9:15 to 10:15 at Our Lady of Peace Church. Burial will be Immediatel­y after the mass at Lawn Croft Cemetery.
