Robert Francis Stant, Jr., 59, of Aston died November 7, 2017 at Crozer Chester Medical Center with his wife, children and son-in-law by his side.

Born in Chester, he resided in Trainer before moving to his late residence in 2012. Bob was a graduate of Sun Valley High School, class of 1975 and attended Neumann University. He served in the US Army from 1979-1981 and was employed by Philly Shipyard, Inc. as a Machine Operator for almost three years. Bob previously worked for Claymont Steel as a Supervisor for 21 years. He was a member of the Church of St. Joseph and a former member of Holy Saviour R.C. Church.

Bob enjoyed living in Aston, fishing, boating, playing poker, working out, running, and spending time with family at Broadkill Beach. He was an avid Eagles fan. He had an incredible sense of humor, was very generous and was committed to whatever he chose to do. Most important to Bob was spending time with his loving wife, best friend and soulmate, Bette and his cherished children and grandchild­ren. Bob’s family was at the center of his life always. Bob and Bette started their family at a very young age and he devoted his life to providing every possible opportunit­y to them and anyone who met him understood how proud he was of them and how much he loved them. Bob was a grateful and generous man.

Robert is survived by his wife of 40 years, Bette J. Schraishuh­n Stant; his parents, Robert Francis and Helen Cecilia Buffington Stant; his children, Jennifer A. Clarke (Timothy), January C. Stant-Krassnosky and Robert Francis Stant, III (Brittany Slaughterb­eck); his siblings, Helena Lynn Dougherty, Michael Stant (Theresa) and Margaret Mary Smith; also, 5 grandchild­ren, brotherin-law, aunts, uncles, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday, November 12, 2017 and 9:15-10:15 AM Monday, November 13, 2017 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N Swarthmore Ave, Ridley Park, PA 19078

Funeral Mass: 11:00 AM Monday at the Church of St. Joseph, 3255 Concord Road, Aston, PA 19014.

Burial: Mount Cemetery
