Kate (Kearney) Hammond, 88, died November 7, in New London, CT. She attended St. Patrick’s and Gwynedd Mercy Academy.

In 1952, she married Jack and later moved to Westbrook Park to raise their family. Kate enjoyed celebratin­g friendship­s and family milestones. Potato salad was her signature dish. She was active at the K of C and Holy Cross. Kate also worked at the De La

Salle caterers, helping many relatives get their first job. She later worked in retail at Clover. Besides her family and work, she enjoyed soaking in the sun in Florida and New Jersey.

Kate liked to sing Irish tunes, dance the jitterbug, strut the mummers, fish for flounder, cheer the Phillies/ Eagles, watch Blue Bloods and play Bingo.

She is survived by her children Kassie (Jeff Hawbaker), Jack (Jody), Sue (Steve) Hambey, Barb McGonigle, and Micky (Mike) Venit, 14 grandchild­ren, 7 greatgrand­children and sister-in-laws Agnes Hammond, Nancy Kearney and Jean Kearney. She was predecease­d by her husband, Jack, and grandson, Dan.

Viewing: Sunday Nov. 12, 6–9pm, O’Leary Funeral Home, Springfiel­d, PA and Monday morning before Mass at 9:30.

Funeral Mass: Monday Nov. 13 at 10:30 am, Holy Cross, Springfiel­d, PA.
