Mary F. Hurwitz (Nee Roy)

Mary F. Hurwitz (Nee Roy), age 87, of Upper Providence, formerly of Folcroft, passed away on November 9, 2017.

She was born in Philadelphia to the late Horace and Sarah Roy, married 57 years to the late George E. Hurwitz Sr. and was a graduate of Dobbins High School.

Once her children were in school full time, Mary went to work for PSFS in customer service and after retiring worked for the Folcroft Public Library.

Along with spending time with her family she enjoyed the company of and entertaining with her close friends. She also enjoyed a good book, classic movies, the theater, spending time at the Jersey shore and a daily martini. Mary always decorated her house especially her dining room table to reflect the current holiday or season. She embraced her Irish heritage and was active in the community and would donate her time to special causes. Along with her husband and friends, they traveled to Ireland & England and took numerous cruises and vacations to other parts of the country.

She was predeceased by her sister Helen Kuhn and is survived by: Marianne Zane (George). Mark Hurwitz (Donna), George Hurwitz Jr (Kathy), Nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation, on Friday, 8:3010:00am at the Cavanagh Family Funeral Home 301 Chester Pike Norwood Pa. followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30am in the Church of Saint George 11 E. Lamont Ave Glenolden Pa.

Burial: Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, Pa.
