Mundy’s quick hat trick carries Penncrest past Harriton

Penncrest’s Dan Mundy tallied three goals in the span of 58 seconds in the opening period of Monday night’s ICSHL Central matchup with Harriton. Mundy finished with a hat trick and one assist to lead the Lions to a 7-2 victory.

Jack Fletcher and Aidan O’Connor both added a goal and two assists. Matthew Dougherty had one goal and one helper for the Lions, who received a solid performanc­e in net from John Mundy (14 saves).

In other Central action: LOWER MERION 10, MARPLE NEWTOWN 0 » The Aces made easy work of the Tigers, who were outshot, 3516. David Wilf, Will Ebby and Alex Broder paced LM with two goals apiece. Justin Greenspan made 16 saves to record the shutout.

In PCL Blue action: CARDINAL O’HARA 7, ROMAN CATHOLIC 3 » John Paul Ahearn powered the Lions with three goals and three assists. Zac Deemer supplied a goal and three assists, while Brendan McGroary added a tally and two helpers.

O’Hara scored four of its goals with the man advantage. Goalie Troy Percival made 31 saves.
