Ruth Mae Dixon, age 80, for­merly of Norwood, PA passed away peace­fully on Novem­ber 11, 2017.

Born and raised in Philadel­phia, Ruth met and mar­ried her hus­band, Wil­liam at the age of 17. The two set­tled in to their Norwood home where they raised their 3 chil­dren.

Af­ter Bill’s re­tire­ment in early 1990’s, they re­lo­cated to their home in the Pot-Nets Com­mu­nity, Mills­boro, DE. There, they en­joyed the sights of the bay and ocean re­lax­ing in their re­tire­ment years.

Ruth was de­voted to her faith and was a mem­ber of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Norwood and Mary Mother of Peace Church, Mills­boro, DE where she was a mem­ber of the Columbi­ette’s.

Known for her good na­ture and cre­ativ­ity, Ruth en­joyed the hol­i­days where she hosted many Christ­mas and Thanks­giv­ing din­ners, and al­ways dec­o­rated her home for the hol­i­days. She loved to sing, es­pe­cially Christ­mas Songs. She also was a mem­ber of the Red Hat­ters. One of her great­est joys was spend­ing time with her chil­dren and grand­chil­dren.

In ad­di­tion to her par­ents, Robert and Vi­o­let Teetz, she is pre­ceded in death by her hus­band, Wil­liam Dixon, Jr. who passed in 2007 and two broth­ers, Don­ald and Robert Teetz. She is sur­vived by 2 daugh­ters, Mau­reen Manlove and hus­band Ken, and Pa­tri­cia Pagano and hus­band Pete, as well as a son, Wil­liam Dixon III. She also is sur­vived by grand­chil­dren, Glenn, Peter III, Re­nae and Ni­cholas Pagano, Kris­ten, Wil­liam IV, Ash­ley and Sam Dixon, Kari, Drew and Todd Manlove, and sev­eral great grand­chil­dren.

Visi­ta­tion will be held on Fri­day, 11-12 Noon at the Pagano Fu­neral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Gar­net Val­ley, PA. A Fu­neral Mass will fol­low at 1:00PM at St. Thomas the Apos­tle Church, 425 Val­ley­brook Rd., Glen Mills, PA. In­ter­ment, S.S. Peter & Paul Ceme­tery, Spring­field, PA.
