Police arrest woman for alleged fraud
West Whiteland police: she allegedly made fraudulent purchases with the business credit card
WEST WHITELAND » Police arrested a Coatesville woman who allegedly stole from her place of employment dating back to late 2013.
West Whiteland police said Kimberly Newlin, 40, of Coatesville, was charged with access device fraud, theft by deception, theft by unlawful taking or disposition and receiving stolen property on Nov. 8 after an investigation into an alleged theft from a business in the 300 block of Exton Common were Newlin was employed as an office manager.
Police said it was determined that Newlin allegedly made $9,999 in fraudulent purchases with the business’ credit account and had written checks to herself in the amount of $7,050 starting in December 2013. Newlin was arraigned by Judge John Bailey and released on a $15,000 unsecured bail.
DUI
West Whiteland police said Brittany Williams, 21, of Gap, was charged with DUI and traffic offenses on Nov. 1 after a patrol officer observed her vehicle reportedly speeding on the Route 30 Bypass and initiated a traffic stop. Williams was arrested after reportedly failing field sobriety tests and she was released on a criminal summons.
West Whiteland police said Paige DiDomenico, 20, of Norristown, was charged with DUI and traffic offenses on Nov. 4 after a patrol officer observed her vehicle speeding on the Route 30 Bypass and initiated a traffic stop. DiDomenico was arrested after allegedly failing field sobriety tests and she was released on a criminal summons.
Retail theft
West Whiteland police said Abigail Lisk, 18, and Raysa Perez, 18, both of West Chester, were charged with retail theft on Nov. 2 after an officer responded to the Kohl’s store for a reported theft. It was alleged that Lisk had stolen $14 worth of merchandise while Perez allegedly stole $65 worth of merchandise. Each were issued a nontraffic citation for retail theft and released.
West Whiteland police said Tyrone Reyes, 33, of Coatesville, was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property on Nov. 3 after officers responded to the Wal-Mart store for an alleged $250 theft. Reyes, who was found to have two prior retail theft convictions, was arraigned by Judge William Kraut. He was remanded to Chester County Prison after failing to post his $250 bail.
West Whiteland police said Nyeema Edney, 21, of Philadelphia, was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property on Nov. 7 after officers responded to the H&M store for an alleged $338 theft. Edney was released on a criminal summons. She was turned over to the Warminster Township Police Department on an outstanding arrest warrant.
West Whiteland police said James Gavaghan, 32, of Secane, was charged with retail theft, criminal conspiracy and receiving stolen property after an investigation into an alleged $1,147 theft from the Kohl’s store in the 200 block of West Lincoln Highway on Oct. 9 and an alleged $1,105 theft from the Kohl’s store in Caln Township on the same day. A warrant was issued for Gavaghan and investigators are attempting to locate him. Police ask that anyone with information on Gavaghan’s whereabouts to call 9-1-1.
