Holy Myrrh-Bearers Parish: 900 Fairview Road, Swarthmore, announces that bi-weekly pierogie sales are back for the fall. Orders are now being accepted for fresh potato and cheese filled pierogies for $8 per dozen. Order by the following Sunday dates for Friday pickup that week: Nov. 26 and Dec. 10. To order, call the parish office at 610544-1215 or email HMBChurch@verizon.net with name, phone number, and number of dozen requested. All pickups are made in the parish hall. Pickups at other times arranged based on prior request; the church holds its traditiona­l Slavic Christmas Luncheon with St. Nicholas on Sunday, Dec. 3. Lunch is served at noon, immediatel­y after the regular 10 a.m. Sunday English Divine Liturgy. The church welcomes all who want to enjoy traditiona­l Slavic foods, including ham, kielbasa with sauerkraut, stuffed cabbage, pierogies, halushki (cabbage and noodles) and more. There is a “Parade of Baskets” raffle and a visit from St. Nicholas. Advance tickets are required. Cost is $15 for adults, $8 for children ages 8-12, and free for children 7 and under. St. James Episcopal Church: 11th and Lincoln avenues, Prospect Park, holds its Canterbury Market from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. Pictures with Santa are held 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The sale features a cookie walk, tea room, bake and soup table, lunch room, silent auction, White Elephant, tried jewelry, 5050s, and wreath and raffle lottery. There are children’s activities with gingerbrea­d man decorating, games, a chance table, crafts, and face painting.

New Hope Christian

Church: Sproul and Paxon Hollow roads, Broomall, holds its 13th annual “Narrated Live Nativity” at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, featuring live animals and actors from the church’s Youth Groups. The presentati­on also features Christmas carols. Children are invited to come up and pet the animals at the conclusion of the presentati­on. After the live Nativity, guests may visit the church’s display of more than 75 Nativity scenes.

Sacred Heart Parish: holds is annual Christmas Bazaar from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 in the rectory basement, 316 E. Broadway Ave., Clifton Heights, features brand-new and gently used Christmas gifts for all ages and chances on a basket of “Christmas spirits.” The raffle table offers tickets on baskets donated by local merchants. There is a Christmas Café, a limited supply of Sacred Heart’s pierogi to take home and a baked goods table with homemade cakes, cookies, and other goodies are available for purchase. Immanuel Lutheran Church: 501 Chester Pike, Norwood, holds a Christmas Bazaar from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2. Along with handcrafte­d Christmas items and used décor, the sale features handmade cookies available by the pound and soups by the quart, ready-to-bake stromboli, homemade candies, and lunch and snacks available for sale. The basement is now accessible by stair lift from the Winona Avenue entrance; the church holds a Parents’ Night Out on Dec. 8 from 6-9. The event features crafts, games, books and more. Food includes hot dogs, macaroni and cheese and snacks. Children must be at least 3 years old and toilet trained. St. Paul AME Zion Church: 712 Washington Ave., Media, holds its annual Christmas Bazaar from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2. The sale features shawls, wreaths, hats, scarfs, Bible covers, handbags, paintings, glass gift boxes, hand-painted rocks from the Rock for Jesus Collection­s, baked goods and more. There is free hot coffee, cocoa and tea.

First Baptist Church: Clifton and Andrews avenues, Collingdal­e, presents “Bethlehem Village” on Thursday, Dec. 7-Saturday, Dec. 9. Through a guided outside tour, the Christmas story is told through a series of brief dramas. The adventure ends inside with a visit to the Bethlehem Marketplac­e with refreshmen­ts and holiday craft making for children. Tour hours are 6:30-9 p.m. Admission is free and opened to all. Wallingfor­d Presbyteri­an Church: 110 E. Brookhaven Road, hosts a “Messiah Sing” on Sunday, December 10 at 7 p.m. The chancel choir plus additional singers perform the Christmas section of Handel’s Messiah. The audience is welcome to join in on the choruses. Music scores will be available for those wanting to participat­e. A dessert reception follows the concert.
