SOMETHING STINKS IN PHILLY
Is there any city in this country more corrupt than Philadelphia? If there is, please let me know. Every time I read the paper, someone is getting indicted or going to jail – and it’s some high official every time, too. JUST WONDERING
WHAT ABOUT COAL?
They’re always talking about bringing jobs back to America. Well, I have an idea — let’s start to bring back the milkman, the breadman, the TV repairman and so on. We can bring back jobs in America again, and get back the way this country was. Bring back the working people and the working man. That’s what we need; a complete all-new way of working again. God bless America. Get back to the good old days like the way it was.
BRING BACK THE CHESTER GOP
I don’t understand why people have been complaining about governance in Chester in Sound Off lately. I thought everything was fine because they voted Democrats in and voted out that terrible GOP machine – you know, the people who made sure that even when it fell on hard times, the city it still had the best water in the whole region, twiceweekly trash pickup in the summer, drivable roads and various other quality of life factors comparable cities around the country could only dream of. I thought everything got instantly better 10 years ago with a Democratic council and mayor. What gives?
BE GRATEFUL
This Thanksgiving, I’m thankful that me and millions of other Americans have such great lives that we can freak out over pseudo-academic nonsense and go out in the streets of New York City to yell at the sky in protest over someone who we don’t like getting elected president. I’m grateful that we have the luxury to worry about frivolous tomfoolery while our enemies elsewhere in the world are worrying about actually building themselves up – like we did in past centuries – to the point where they can overtake us. I’m so grateful to live in a time resembling the later years of the Roman Empire. It’s great to be a witness to history.
END THE MADNESS
Enough is enough. I’ve had people come up to me and say, “What’s with the Daily Times? I don’t buy it anymore because they are obsessed with Trump, Hillary, the Russians and politics.” Sound Off was supposed to be fun reading and informative, with nuts like “B.D.” and “J.C.L.” Let’s get back to laughing at ourselves at ourselves, to ourselves and everything. LOCAL OR BUST!
Enough with this Small Business Saturday, “shop local” and all this other nonsense. You shop where the greatest benefit is to you as a consumer. You know what? If shopping local and buying American is so great, then I’m going all in here in Aston. I’m going to use Aston-refined gasoline from Astonpumped crude oil when fueling up my Aston-made car. I’m putting a new addition on my house using only Aston-forged structural steel and Astoncut lumber from Astongrown trees, and I’m doing it with only the best precision tools made here in Aston. I don’t think I’m going have any problems, because shopping local is always best.
FEELING GREEN
I remember years ago on Thanksgiving Day, the only football game on was Green Bay at Detroit. Now why did ever change that, I don’t know. But I remember watching that way back in the ‘50s when I was a kid with my dad. I wish they would put Green Bay at Detroit on again and be the only football game they have on Thanksgiving Day.
