UPPER DARBY » The Upper Darby Detachment of the Marine Corps League hosts its annual “Toy Collection Open House” from noon-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at the detachment home, 1026 Providence Road, Secane. Stop by and drop off a $10 or more toy, or cash equivalent, and grab something to eat and drink. Santa makes an appearance, and the museum is open. All proceeds go to local families in need during the holiday season.

Along with the toys, the detachment also tries to supply the families with a holiday meal. The detachment no longer collect cans goods for this, but now uses gift cards so the family may pick a meal to their liking.

Santa visits U.D. firehouse

UPPER DARBY » The Ladies’ Auxiliary of Garrettfor­d Drexel Hill Volunteer Fire Company, 323 Edmonds Ave., Drexel Hill, holds a free Lunch with Santa from noon-2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, Lunch includes hot dogs, chicken nuggets and chips. Live Nativity in U.D. Sunday

UPPER DARBY » St. Andrew School hosts a live Nativity scene from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. Visit this holiday event in front of the church at School Lane and Foss Avenue, Drexel Hill, as the students present a full live Nativity with farm animals, including calf, sheep, goats, turkeys, chickens, ducks, rabbits provided by Quiver Farm Projects in Pennsburg, Pa.

The holiday celebratio­n is free and open to the public. There is compliment­ary hot chocolate and cookies.

Mitten Tree marks 20 years

MEDIA » Sheriff Mary McFall Hopper is pleased to announce the 20th annual Mitten Tree in the lobby of the Delaware County Courthouse. Through Dec. 29, the employees of the Sheriff’s Office are collecting mittens, scarves, hats and any winter accessorie­s for the benefit of the children of Delaware County. All items must be new.

All items received are donated to the emergency shelter and transition­al housing clients of the Community Action Agency of Delaware County. Item can be dropped off at the Sheriff’s Office, first floor, Delaware County Courthouse. The donors’ names are added to the Christmas Tree outside the office door in the lobby of the courthouse. Holiday shows coming to U.D.

UPPER DARBY » The Upper Darby Summer Stage Shooting Stars presents “A Holiday Spectacula­r!,” a Broadway-style musical showcase of song and dance numbers at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center, 601 N. Lansdowne Ave., Drexel Hill. The 90-minute production is ideal for children ages 4 and up.
