Carol E. Stanton

1945-2017

Carol E. Stanton, age 72, of Media, Pa, passed away on December 10, 2017.

Carol was born and raised in Yonkers, NY. She married Richard Stanton in 1978, and they lived in New Rochelle, NY for 17 years before moving on to live for shorter periods of time outside Princeton, NJ, in Southern California, and in Horsham, PA before moving to Media.

Carol had a very successful professional career in New York City. She retired shortly after the birth of her daughter, Meredth, in 1986 to become a full-time mom.

Carol loved cooking and baking. She owned more than 700 cookbooks, and when she got a new one, she would read it the way that most people would read a novel. Not afraid to experiment, she produced professional dinners in a variety of cuisines. She was proudest of the amazing wedding cakes that she baked and decorated for members of her family. Holidays were a real treat in her house. Carol and her husband Richard owned and managed Hallmark stores in Media, Pa and Granite Run Mall. Carol really enjoyed her interactions with customers, and she came to know many of them well. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her best friend and husband Richard W. Stanton, daughter Meredith Stanton, stepsons Jonathan and Tracy Stanton, sister Alice Clemente of Tampa, FL, and her wonderful grandson Dashiell. A private service will be held for family.
