SEEING THE LIGHT

I’m happy to say that after I called and before the got it in Sound Off yesterday, Springfield Township got the street light fixed on Markham Place. Thank you, Springfield.

LOOKIN’ GOOD

I’d like to give a shout out for what a beautiful job that they’ve done on the overpasses going through Chester. They look beautiful and the company that has that contract should be recognized.

INK-STAINED WRETCH

I read Phil Heron’s column where he said that the younger generation will not know the glorious feeling of holding a newspaper in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other. And I say they also want know the glorious feeling get of getting the black ink all over your fingers while you’re reading the paper.

SWING TIME

Dear Michael Christopher: Well, the votes have been tallied and Radiohead did not get inducted (this time around) into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. But the band you said was “generic rock,” Dire Straits, did. Hooray, hooray for the sultans of swing!

HOLIDAY SPIRIT

Lauren, leader of the St. Madeline’s Little Flowers, and Pete, leader of the Blue Knights, worked with Father Flanagan and Father Joe to put on a night of caroling for seniors in the parish on Saturday. Even with the snow and the cold, the kids gave a great performance. Thanks to these three four great leaders of the parish, and their parents, the real meaning of Christmas shone through.

BUCK STOPPERS

To “Buck Stops Here,” I think Joe Buck should keep that stupid facial hair look he has. It’s like a visual representation of his ability as a commentator. What would that guy be doing right now if his father wasn’t Jack Buck?

TWISTED LOGIC

Wonderful editorial about gerrymandering in Pennsylvania this week from the editorial board. According to the editorial, Pat Meehan represents people in five different counties in our state. And that is ridiculous for one congressmen to represent five different counties. Of course the Republican Legislature sees absolutely nothing wrong with it. That’s how corrupt they are.

TAKING STOCK

“Trump Is A Regulation Buster” is another complete idiot that is saying that the stock market is doing great because Trump is reducing regulations on banks and small businesses. The stock market was thriving well before Trump got in office, but of course “Trump Is A Regulation Buster” won’t give any credit to Obama because he’s fact-free. The stock market is just continuing what Obama started right now. That’s all; it has nothing to do with Trump at all.

CHARITY CASES

“Mr. Tom In Linwood” had a good suggestion that “Violet From Prospect Park” should do some volunteer work to stop being a bitter leftist. The problem is that she probably subscribes to the Joe Biden philosophy that if you pay taxes then you don’t have to give to charity or do any volunteer work. Did you ever notice how this country started going downhill since we started to depend on the government to take care of the sick and elderly instead of doing it our own through churches, fraternal organizations, etc.? Thanks a lot, LBJ.

BET ON IT

Are any bookies taking action on what part of the Mueller investigation the major news outlets are going to get out in front of with wrong information?

ISN’T IT RICH?

While I agree a lot of this Trump populist stuff is nonsense, it cracks me up how people are left are complaining “Trump is rich. His father was rich. How can he know about the working people? Blah, blah, blah. Yeah, these are same people who talk about JFK, RFK and Teddy like they were the three greatest people to walk the face of the Earth. What did they know about working people except how their grandfather used their votes.
