J.P Mascaro awarded contract for trash removal in Ridley Park
AUDUBON » J.P. Mascaro & Sons has recently been awarded municipal contracts in Lower Merion, Montgomery County and Ridley Park in Delaware County.
In Lower Merion, the Audubon-based Mascaro was awarded a one-year contract with options for three additional years, to transport, process and market all of the township’s commingled recyclables — an estimated 2,600 tons of recyclables annually.
Beginning in January, Mascaro will transport the township’s recyclables from the township-owned transfer station to Mascaro’s TotalRecycle, in Exeter, in Berks County. There, the recyclables will be processed and marketed for end-use.
Opened in 2016, Mascaro’s 85,000-square-foot TotalRecycle facility has the latest single stream recycling automated technology, according to a press release. In its first year of operation, TotalRecycle processed more than 1 million pounds of recyclables, and significantly more than that in 2017.
“Our facility is one of the premier single stream recycling facilities in Pennsylvania, and we welcome the opportunity to process and market Lower Merion Township’s recyclables,” Joseph P. Mascaro — who manages the Exeter facility — said in a press release.
The second contract awards J.P. Mascaro Ridley Park’s comprehensive waste collection contract valued at $800,000. The contract encompasses weekly collection for trash removal, recycling and yard waste, for a term of two years with a third-year option.
Mascaro’s Bridgeport Division will service Ridley Park residents.
