Lungren Road closed
MIDDLETOWN » Lungren Road between Lenni Road and Parkmount Road in Middletown Township was closed Dec. 15 afternoon after damage was discovered to a 6-foot culvert along the state highway.
Lungren Road, which carries an average of 1,474 vehicles per day, will be closed indefinitely while PennDOT engineers and maintenance determine the extent of damage and develop a plan to repair or replace the structure.
During the closure, Lungren Road traffic will be directed to use Lenni Road, Route 452 (Pennell Road) and Parkmount Road. Local access will be maintained for residents and businesses. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through this area.
322 announcements
CONCHESTER » Daytime lane closures will be in place intermittently through most of next year on U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) from U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) to just east of Clayton Park Drive in Concord Township, Delaware County, for construction related to a project to improve and widen the highway.
Weekdays from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and possibly Saturdays from 7 a.m.-7 p.m., flaggers will direct an alternating single lane of traffic on U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) through various work areas along the 2.6-mile construction zone. These operations will continue through late fall 2018.
Motorists should expect delays on U.S. 322 and on northbound U.S. 1 approaching U.S. 322, allow extra time for travel through the work areas, or use an alternate route. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Construction began in spring 2017 on the firstof-two mainline projects to widen and reconstruct a 6.7-mile section of U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) from U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) to just east of Route 452 (Market Street) in Concord, Bethel and Upper Chichester townships, Delaware County. The project is scheduled to be completed in late 2020.
