Armed bandits hit Media liquor store
MEDIA » Police are looking for three suspects in connection with an armed holdup at the Wine and Spirits store Tuesday morning.
It was about 9:35 a.m. when police were dispatched to the store in the 300 block of West Baltimore Avenue for a report of a robbery in progress. While en route, officers were notified that two black males whose faces were covered were still inside the store. Arriving officers immediately set up a perimeter of the building but soon learned the suspects had fled the scene.
According to police, one of the suspects was armed with a small, black, semiautomatic handgun. He’s described as the heavier of the suspects, last seen wearing a gray/green jacket over a hooded sweatshirt that was pulled up over the top of a red-brimmed hat. His face was covered with a black scarf. Additionally he was wearing black gloves with a white patch along the back of the hands.
A second suspect was described as thin, and wearing a black or blue hooded jacket, blue jeans and black sneakers with white soles. He was also wearing black gloves, as well as a black scarf over his face.
Police believe a third accomplice may have been involved. A review of surveillance video shows a male entering the store about five minutes prior to the robbery. He was wearing a gray jacket with his jeans tucked into colorful blue and red striped socks, and brown Timberland boots with the laces untied.
As the investigation continues, anyone with information is asked to contact borough police Officer Matthew Bellucci at 610-565-6656.
