John Fricko
John Fricko, 97, died peacefully in Tallahassee, FL on December 23, 2017. He was a longtime resident of Springfield, PA.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he graduated from North Catholic High School and Temple University. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II.
John was the owner of the Philadelphia CPA firm, Frank Harris Company, which merged with Main Hurdman, where he was a partner. During that time he also worked at John Weber, Inc. John was a member of the Union League and served on the Board of Directors of The Blind Relief Fund of Philadelphia. For many years, John’s CPA experience was invaluable to many associations including Holy Cross CYO, United German Hungarian Club, and Knights of Columbus.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Anna (Noel) Fricko; his loving wife of 68 years, Margaret “Peg” (McNulty) Fricko, who died in 2015 and his son, John. He is survived by his children Michael (Claire), Christine Inger (Steven), and Martin (Jane).
John loved his nine grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 9:30 am in Holy Cross Church, 651 E. Springfield Rd., Springfield, PA 19064. His Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 am. Burial will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
