Elsie Murray (nee Howlett) of Folcroft, died peacefully in her sleep the early morning of January 3, 2018 at Little Flower Manor in Darby, Pennsylvan­ia.

Elsie was born in Philadelph­ia on November 17, 1932 and attended Bartram High School and graduated in 1950. She met and married Harry Murray, the man of her life on October 18, 1952 and raised six sons over their marriage of fifty years. Fondly known as “Harry’s” wife, Elsie was the homemaker and backbone that made the Murray family a positive influence in the community. Elsie also worked for the County of Delaware in Media for 16 years and was known as “Queen Mum” to her coworkers.

Elsie is preceded in death by her husband, Harry; sons Michael and Thomas and mother Elsie Polster. Elsie is survived by four sons, Steve (Debra) Murray, Harry Murray, John (Barbara) Murray and Bob (Karen) Murray, nine grandchild­ren, Linda, Sara, Sean, Melissa, Bobby, Ian, Anthony, Annalise and Taylor; and 3 great grandchild­ren, Shane, Olivia and Braelyn.

Relatives & friends are invited to attend her visitation Sunday 5:30 – 8pm at the Cavanagh Family Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood. Int. Private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Folcroft Boys Club, P.O. Box 123, Folcroft, Pa. 19032 or the Folcroft Fire House, 1647 Delmar Drive, Folcroft, Pa. 19032.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Little Flower Manor for their wonderful family support and caring for Elsie over the last 18 months and to Vistas Hospice for their support in her final days.
