JAKE IS THE MAN

Kudos to 12 year old Jake Kudrick. His dad, who died in October, had been captain of the Duffy String Band. Jake wanted to honor his dad by carrying on the tradition of being captain. He was dressed in a captain’s costume and did an excellent job. I’m sure his dad was smiling down at him — such a heart-warming story.

WAY TO GO, WAWA

I’ve never seen such a well-organized Wawa as I see at Ashland Avenue. Those people in there should be given a trophy, they work so hard. I watched them shoveling snow, making sandwiches and being so nice to the customers. What a bunch of hard working, nice people.

NICK IS THE PICK

I loved Christine Flowers’ column on Sunday. I’m glad that she mentioned to Nick Miccarelli, because in my opinion he’s one of our best legislators and his office staff should also be commended. BIG FLOWERS FAN

LOVE THOSE TEENS

Regarding the article about the teenagers at Interboro, I do have to say that they brought me to tears. What a wonderful thing. It gives me faith and hope in humanity, and that’s certainly lacking in a lot of ways. What a wonderful thing these kids did and I’m very proud to be a taxpayer in Prospect Park. It just warms my heart. And thank you to the parents of these children who obviously taught them well. ONE WHO KNOWS

ODDS ARE

I can’t figure out how the odds line makers in Las Vegas could figure out the line going into the last games of the regular season when some of these teams had got it locked up – how did they know who was going to start, how long they’d be in, who’s sitting out completely? I really can’t understand that one. THE GAMBLER ON GLEAVES ROAD

TIME IS RUNNING OUT, DONALD

Mr. Trump, you are gloating that you bullied your constituents, cabinet and the Congress into passing this bill about tax reform. You know it is not good for the people. The people have had enough. Enjoy your time why you can, Mr. Trump. V.

THE WONDERFUL MR. TRUMP

Regarding the caller complaining about Trump playing golf: As they say, Obama played golf all the time. But Trump doesn’t always play golf. He just closed his golf resort in Mar-a-Largo and invited the U.S. Coast Guard in that area to play for free. He also doesn’t take a salary. He also gave over $1 million of his own money after the hurricanes that hit Texas and the surrounding areas. I think he’s use the only president in in the history of the United States to not take a salary and give that kind of their own money for disaster relief.

LOOKING AHEAD

Good riddance, 2017. We lost so many great rock ‘n’ rollers in the last year: Chuck Barry, Chris Cornell and many other greats. ROCK ‘N’ ROLL FAN IN RADNOR

ANOTHER KNOW NOTHING

“Econ 101” wants to know if the so-called hippies know how many small businesses have enough income to be subject to the federal corporate tax. Next to none – that’s how many. I have spent my entire life around people in small businesses and none of them are incorporated or make enough to fall under the federal corporate tax. This is another stupid right-winger spouting when they know nothing.

A QUITE THE SQUAD

I’m going to miss this group of Penn State football players on Saturdays come next fall. What a great turnaround for the program. NITTANY LION IN NEWTOWN SQUARE

ANOTHER KNOW IT ALL

To “Add It Up,” you’re just another leftist idiot. Why don’t you wait and see how much more people get back up in paychecks before spouting that you can’t back up? What about the thousands of people who already got a $1,000 bonus in their checks? That doesn’t count? TRUMP 2020
