Lannon lifts Cabrini to OT win

Kate Lannon has become quite a valuable contributo­r for the Cabrini women’s basketball team, and the freshman from Sun Valley came through once again Monday.

Lannon made a careerhigh five 3-pointers and saved four of her 24 points for overtime to help the Cavaliers outlast Widener, 89-83, and extend their winning streak to 11 games.

Lannon was 5-for-10 from deep and is shooting 50 percent (16-for-32) from beyond the arc in the last six games. Meghan Matthews added 21 points, seven rebounds and three assists for the Cavaliers (13-2). Cassidy Gallagher pitched in with 15 points.

Allison Gallagher scored a game-high 27 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Widener (9-7) before fouling out. Madison Ireland (Garnet Valley) added 13 points, five assists and four steals. SWARTHMORE 53, BRYN MAWR 50 » Isabelle Ewart hit two foul shots with 16 seconds to play and another with 10 second remaining to seal the victory for the Garnet (3-10).

Ewart led Swarthmore with 13 points, nine rebounds, three assists and three steals. Audra Woodside added 10 points and four boards, while Raina Williams and Abigail Pirron grabbed 10 rebounds each. HAVERFORD 65, IMMACULATA 48 » The inside-outside combo of Samantha Wetzel, Sierra Berkel and Macy Goldbach helped the Fords (11-3) bounce back from a loss to Johns Hopkins.

Wetzel and Berkel dominated the inside with 18 points apiece. Wetzel also had seven assists and four rebounds, while Berkel pulled down nine boards. Goldbach hit five 3-point field goals and finished with 17 points. PSU-BRANDYWINE 66, PSUWILKES-BARRE 52 » Brandywine used a 14-0 run at the start of the second half to pull away for a PSUAC win on the road.

Springfiel­d grads Alyssa Abbonizio and Madison D’Ambrosio scored 14 points each to pace Brandywine (10-5, 6-0). Brandi James (Interboro) chipped in with 11 points. ROWAN 89, EASTERN 78 » The Profs put on a shooting clinic in the fourth quarter to turn a tie game after three periods into a doubledigi­t victory. Rowan scored 31 points on 10 of 17 shooting from the field and 11for-13 accuracy at the foul line to break a 58-all deadlock after three periods.

Briana Young-Harris led the five Eagles in double figures with 17 points. She also pulled down 12 rebounds and handed out seven assists. Taylor Price chipped in with 14 points for Eastern (4-11).

Men’s Basketball

Penn State Brandywine pitched a shutout in the second overtime to beat PSU Wilkes-Barre, 109-100. Brandywine forced four turnovers and held Wilkes-Barre to 0-for-6 shooting from the field in the second extra session.

Terrence Brown poured in 33 points and grabbed eight rebounds to pace Brandywine (10-4, 6-1 PSUAC). James Fisher (Upper Darby) added 24 points, seven rebounds and six assists, while Isiah Cook contribute­d 23 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.
