I read the Daily Times and a lot of people are complaining, saying it’s price gouging about the price of gasoline and CEOs of those companies are just getting richer and richer and we’re getting poorer. Well, here’s a thought and it works for a lot of people, maybe it’ll work for you: Park your car and take public transportation wherever you have to go. You’ll find out that it’s cheaper in the long run, there’s no maintenance on the car and there’s no insurance to pay for. Everything’s covered. It might even cut down on pollution and traffic, too, while we’re thinking about it.

To “Mark My Words,” I often wonder the same thing about these people calling in critiquing the pipeline. They must be civil and mechanical engineers since they’re so sure of themselves on this topic. Why they spending their time calling Sound Off instead of out there earning six-figures and redesigning a more environmentally-friendly layout and machining of this project?

Well, this week we had a double whammy for California with the Census Bureau unveiling a new standard of measuring poverty that show how awful California really is, and another New California movement springing up. I’d like to see where this goes. Best of luck to those trying to split the rest of the state off from the hippie fiefdoms of the coast.

It’s funny that “Spineless In D.C.” would use the term “profiles in courage” asking about current Republicans’ integrity. I’m guessing they lifted that term from the JFK’s book that was ghostwritten by his speech Ted Sorensen – whom Kennedy never gave credit to when accepting a Pulitzer Prize for the book. There has been a lack of integrity in both parties for a long time. If you’re going to be a critic, be an honest one, “Spineless In D.C.”
