Howard W. Viguers

Howard W. Viguers, age 77, died peacefully at his home in Cape May, NJ surrounded by his loving family on January 23, 2018. Born in Ridley Park and raised in Aston, Mr. Viguers made his home in Middletown Township for 48 years. He spent the past ten years in Cape May, NJ. Howard graduated Penncrest High School in 1959. He worked for Energy Elevator Company as a mechanic for 15 years then for State Elevator Company for 17 years. He was a member of the International Union of Elevator Contractors Local #5 of Philadelphia. Howard was a member and officer of Gradyville Methodist Church. He was a member of Free & Accepted Masons Concord Lodge #625 for 48 years and served as Master of the lodge in 1976. He did volunteer work through Penn State Extension Campus and sponsored 4 H Clubs. He was also the leader of the Bee Club and active in the Archery Club. Howard was an avid gardener and tennis player. He enjoyed hunting small game and always looked forward to deer season. Howard is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joan Post Viguers; his daughter, Carol Ann Teets (Warren) of Newburg, MD; and his son, Howard W. Viguers Jr. (Debbie) of Media, PA. He is survived by four grandchildren Jessica, Samantha, Rebecca and Howard; four great-grandchildren; and siblings Jesse Miller of Concordville, PA, Cheryl Miller of West Chester, PA and Virginia Maciejczyk of Concordville, PA. Services will be held at Gradyville United Methodist Church (Rt. 352 & Sycamore Mills) Saturday, January 27th. Friends and family may call from 1011:45. There will be a Masonic Service beginning at 11:45 followed by Howard’s funeral service at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at Media Cemetery.
