Joseph Louis DeLuca
Joseph Louis DeLuca, 67 of Avondale, PA, died Tuesday, February 06, 2018 in his home after a brave and courageous battle with ALS.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Louis and the late Carmella (Geonnotti) DeLuca. Joe was born and raised in South Philadelphia before living in Ridley Park for 40 years, eventually moving to Avondale. Joe was a devoted family man whose greatest joy was his children and grandchildren. Joe was an active member of the community, namely volunteering his time coaching his sons various sports activities. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan - Phillies, Flyers and the Eagles. Finally got to enjoy an Eagles Super bowl win! Enthusiastic collector of memorabilia, especially sports cards which he collected, traded and sold. He retired from the PLCB and was a Store Manager for various supermarkets.
Survived by his wife: Mary (McEntee) DeLuca. His Children: Joseph B. (Kim) DeLuca, Matthew R. (Ellen) DeLuca. Grandchildren: Ryan, Rocco, Abby, Michael DeLuca and his grand dog Zoe. Brothers: Louis DeLuca, Robert DeLuca. Sisters: Mary (Bob) Rementer and many nieces and nephews as well as extended loving and supportive family and friends. Funeral Mass, Saturday at 11:00 am at Saint John Chrysostom, 605 S Providence Road, Wallingford. Friends may call Saturday. from 9-11 am at Saint John Chrysostom Church. Interment Private.
