INDIA Anniversary:
A supporter of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference shouts pro-freedom slogans Sunday as he is detained by police, during a protest on the death anniversary of separatist leader Maqbool Bhat in Srinagar, Indian-controlled Kashmir. Authorities imposed a curfew in some parts of Kashmir’s main city to prevent anti-Indian protests after separatist groups called a general strike demanding that Bhat’s remains, interred in New Delhi’s high-security Tihar Jail, be returned for a proper burial.
