Haseltine helps Crusaders cruise

Lindsay Haseltine scored all 14 of her points in the opening half to lead The Christian Academy to a 48-14 victory over Plumstead Christian in the quarterfin­al round of the Bicentenni­al League playoffs Tuesday night.

Hannah Sareyka added 11 points for the Crusaders, who held a 24-8 advantage at halftime. In her first game following a long injury absence, senior guard Grace Gormley chipped in with six points.

TCA will play New HopeSolebu­ry in the semifinal round Thursday.

In the Inter-Ac League: GERMANTOWN ACADEMY 52, EPISCOPAL ACADEMY 30 » Cara Harty drained three 3-point baskets and scored nine points, but the Churchwome­n had trouble against the Patriots, who are undefeated in the Inter-Ac. Katie Weaver tossed in seven points, and Olivia Dirks added six in the losing cause.

Episcopal is back in action Thursday, hosting Baldwin in the opening round of the Pennsylvan­ia Independen­t Schools Athletic Associatio­n tournament.

Boys Basketball

A slow start and crisp shooting by Lower Moreland spelled the end for Delco Christian in the quarterfin­al round of the Bicentenni­al League playoffs.

Tyler Penley and Jackson Piotrowski scored 14 points apiece, but the Knights suffered a 67-45 defeat.

Delco Christian (15-9) will play in the District 1 Class 1A semifinal Friday, Feb. 23 against Calvary Christian.

Lower Moreland raced to a 19-5 lead after the first quarter. For the game, LM made 11 3-point field goals.

Three players scored in double figures for LM led by Dan Shimon, who netted a gamehigh 15 points.
