Lan­non’s boost off the bench helps Cabrini ex­tend streak

Fresh­man Kate Lan­non (Sun Val­ley) scored 10 points off the bench to help the Cabrini women’s basketball team win its 20th in a row with a 70-41 rout of Im­mac­u­lata Wed­nes­day.

Nomi Washington led the way with 16 points, six steals and four as­sists for the Cava­liers (222, 15-0 CSAC), who held a 14-3 ad­van­tage af­ter the first quar­ter. Sab­rina Hack­endorn posted a dou­ble-dou­ble with 16 points and 11 re­bounds. HAVER­FORD 59, SWARTH­MORE 58» The Fords (20-5) avoided a ma­jor up­set at the hands of the Gar­net (5-20). Sierra Berkel, who poured in a game-high 24 points, gave Haver­ford a six­point ad­van­tage with two min­utes left. Swat cut the deficit to a point when Ken­dall Tribus drilled a 3-pointer with 16 sec­onds to play.

A late turnover by Raina Wil­liams sealed the win for the Fords, who over­came a poor shoot­ing per­for­mance from be­yond the arc (1-for-13).

Sa­man­tha Wet­zel reg­is­tered a dou­ble-dou­ble with 15 points and 18 re­bounds, while Mad­die Gal­lic chipped in with 11 points for Haver­ford.

Is­abelle Ewart and Abi­gail Pir­ron led Swarth­more with 13 points apiece. SAINT JOSEPH’S 64, DAVID­SON 62 » Chelsea Woods’ layup with five sec­onds left lifted the Hawks (13-12), who led by as many as 12 points in the sec­ond half.

Woods paced St. Joe’s with 17 points and snared six re­bounds. Amanda Fio­ra­vanti fin­ished with 16 points, eight re­bounds and five as­sists, while Adashia Franklyn net­ted 12 points and pulled down eight boards. GWYNEDD MERCY 83, NEU­MANN 63» Kris­ten Denon­cour (Car­di­nal O’Hara) had 13 points and 10 re­bounds, but the Knights (17-7) shot a woe­ful 33.3 per­cent (25for-75). Nafisa Saun­ders scored a team-high 20 points. SHIPPENSBURG 79, CHEYNEY 52 » TaKayla El­lis and Gianni Hill each scored in dou­ble fig­ures with 11 and 10 points, re­spec­tively, but the Wolves (5-20) shot 29.9 per­cent from the floor, in­clud­ing 3 of 17 from 3-point dis­tance. Yas­mine Dor­rielan pulled down 10 re­bounds, and Oc­tavia Hawkins added nine points and three steals in lim­ited min­utes off the bench.

Men’s Basketball

Se­nior for­ward Ty­heim Mon­roe flirted with a triple-dou­ble as Cabrini earned its sev­enth straight win with an 87-75 de­ci­sion over Im­mac­u­lata.

Mon­roe to­taled 26 points on 13 of 26 shoot­ing from the field, grabbed 22 re­bounds and dished seven as­sists for the Cava­liers (21-3). An­thony Wright-Down­ing also recorded a dou­ble-dou­ble with 25 points and 10 boards. Keith Blassin­gale and Trey Smith each scored 11 points. SWARTH­MORE 81, HAVER­FORD 69» A bal­anced scor­ing at­tack helped the Gar­net to their 20th win of the sea­son. Five play­ers reached dou­ble fig­ures, in­clud­ing Zack Yonda, who had a team-high 17 points. Nate Shafer and Conor Harkins each net­ted 15, Zac O’Dell paired 13 points with 11 re­bounds, and Jim Lam­mer added 10 points.

Khalil Garnes paced the Fords with 26 points. SHIPPENSBURG 81, CHEYNEY 65 » Jeff Lewis had 17 points and seven re­bounds, and Cliff St. Juste posted 16 points and a pair of steals, but the Wolves (221) suf­fered their 12th con­sec­u­tive de­feat.
