THANKS FOR THE HELP

I’m a registered Democrat and a handicapped senior citizen from Clifton Heights, and I wish to thank Denise and Linda in Republican State Rep. Santora’s office. They were so kind to me and helped me get my work done even though I had difficulty getting into the office. An older couple tried to help me too, so I appreciate all the help and I would like to thank them all. GRATEFUL CONSTITUENT

RIDLEY SCHOOLS DELIVER

I’ve been reading a lot of complaining about schools in Sound Off the last few weeks, and I want to say that as a single male parent raising two children, I find it very rewarding to have them in the Ridley School District. I know that the administrators at the high school and middle school and the school board are especially careful about keeping them safe. That is more important than how many games they’ve won or how many times they’ve passed an English test. I want my child to come home every day after school and they see to that happening. I want to thank all of the administrators and school board members of the Ridley School District.

THOSE DANGED ELITISTS

To “Now That’s An Insult,” in one short paragraph you managed to degrade both South Philly and Trump supporters. It’s elitists like you – who think they’re smarter than everyone else – who cause half the problems in this country.

GET OUTTA RIDLEY

If “Disgusted” is so disgusted with Ridley’s high taxes, move somewhere where there are lower taxes. That way you won’t have to complain about Ridley’s taxes. As far as never getting off when you went to school, well, the Eagles never won a Super Bowl when you went to school, either.

CHECK OUT AARP

For those people looking for a 1040 tax forms: The AARP is running a free tax service at the Aston Township library on Mondays and Fridays from 8:30 to noon. You should be able to get the tax service details at the national AARP number, 1-888-6872277.

AH, THE MEMORIES

Every year about this time at Lent I think about the Horn & Hardart’s hot cross buns. They were the best. I know that you can get them in others places, but they can’t hold a candle to Horn & Hardart’s.

BOUGHT AND SOLD

I am a lifelong Democrat, and even I will admit the Democrats in Washington aren’t very bright. Because what they should be doing is playing nonstop Lindsey Graham’s quote that Republican donors were going to close their wallets unless the Republicans in Congress got that abomination of a tax bill passed. And that is a direct quote from Lindsey Graham, and it shows how horrible Republicans are, because they sold our country down the river for their donors.

LISTEN UP

To “Money Rules,” as I said before, if you have an issue with money in politics being considered free speech, fine, that’s a debatable point. But you and/or like-minded callers keep complaining about “corporations being people.” You hear the word corporation and immediately jump to some kind of robber baron boogeyman delusion. Corporations have some of the rights of people; it’s in the “corp”-oration part of the word. It’s a body that is acting in place of a collective to shield that collective from direct liability.

GOD WILL SOLVE ALL

There is a solution to gun violence in schools, and it is simple: Bring God and prayer back to the classroom. God is waiting to help. His answer starts with just a simple prayer. Let’s just give it a try.

THE HORROR

This is another beautiful statistic they were talking about last week: Three of the worst mass shootings in American history have happened in the last five years. Our current system of government has been around about 225 years, but three of the worst mass shootings that happened in the last five. Isn’t freedom great?
