Police seek new leads on woman’s body found in park
Remains were found two years ago in Ridley Creek State Park
EDGMONT » Two years after the remains of a woman were found in Ridley Creek State Park, Pennsylvania State Police investigators are hoping the images of a facial reconstruction may help to identify her.
It was back in January of 2016 when hikers walking in a wooded area along a trail in Ridley Creek State Park discovered the human remains.
The body was fully clothed in cold-weather attire. As a result of a full anthropological examination the remains are believed to be those of a 2545 year-old white female, approximately 5 feet 2 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall. Three notable rings were found with the unknown female, including a gold Irish Claddagh ring, a gold initial ring bearing the initial “C”, and a gold diamond ring.
Additionally, an Isotope Analysis was conducted on the remains, and the results indicated that the decedent was born and resided in the Northeast Region of the United States, with a strong probability of the decedent originating from Pennsylvania or an adjacent state. An updated facial reconstruction was conducted based on the results of the anthropological examination and the isotope analysis,
