Quarter Mania back at Interboro
PROSPECT PARK » Interboro High School After Prom hosts its annual Quarter Mania Auction at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 10, in the high school cafeteria. A Quarter Mania Auction is a cross between an auction and a raffle where people “bid” to win a prize donated from various home business vendors participating in the event.
Bids on these items are from one to four quarters. There are five rounds of vendor items per round, with over 50 items auctioned off during the event. Vendors that have already confirmed participation are: LuLaRoe, Premier Designs Jewelry, Senegence/Lipsense, Tastefully Simple, Thirty-One Bags, Tupperware, Young Living, Celebrating Home, Paparazzi, Party Lite Candles, and P!Phany.
Admission fee is $5 per guest and includes a paddle with a number on it that is used for individual bidding on the items to try to win. Corresponding numbered chips are added into the drawing bin to be used once the auction rounds begin.
As each item is offered up for bid, guests will bid the number of quarters designated by the Auctioneer for the item and hold up their paddle. Once all bids are in, a chip is then drawn. If the number on the chip matches someone who has bid, they’ve won the item. If not, chips are continued to be drawn until one matches a bidding paddle.
Refreshments are available for purchase. There is be a 50-50 drawing at the end of the evening. For information, email ihsafterprom@hotmail.com
