SHUT YOUR YAP
To “Born To Run,” stop complaining after the $25 fee. I’m sure you can afford it. I’m sure you’re making six figures a year. Pay up. PAYING TAXES IN DREXEL HILL.
DO IT YOURSELF
“Born To Run” says the Times didn’t include anything in an editorial on how much it would cost to start police departments in municipalities that use state police and only have an opinion, and that they thought newspapers were supposed to present facts. First, people these municipalities should have started thinking about that question 25 years ago when they started to rapidly get build up. Second, I thought the editorial page was where papers gave their opinion on these. THINK AHEAD
DENSE THOUGHTS
I think any bills on people paying more for state police that don’t have a local force should be based on population density and not simply population. There are so big townships in the middle of the state as far as square miles go that have over 10,000 people but aren’t densely populated. While those places may have over 10,000, they don’t really need their own police force nor do they use the state police as if they were local police. I think these bills would have a better shot at gaining traction if they were written to specifically deal with places like Middletown and Concord – and their equivalents who likely exist in the Pittsburgh region – who are now densely populated enough that they’re using the state police like a local department would be.
LOBBY HOBBY
The fact that the president of United States has to consult with the head of the lobby group for policy information is an absolute disgrace. I know it’s not the first and he wouldn’t be the last, but they should legislate without the lobbyists involved. Unfortunately, that’s run this country. I DON’T GET IT
CHEERS TO SUNOCO
Thumbs up, Sunoco. Was there any doubt that you would not have this pipeline done in due time because of the talent of the building trades that work on your pipeline and in the refineries? The building trades work safe, because we live in the same neighborhoods as you hippies were protesting, causing us to lose wages over your nonsense. Sunoco had the right of way before those houses were ever built. Start thinking and grow up. BUILDING TRADES STEWARD
TRUMP = ABNORMAL
Donald Trump’s latest Tweet scolding Jeff Sessions are just another example of his mental imbalance. And what’s really scary is, nobody seems to be even noticing this. It’s almost as if this behavior is normal because it’s Trump doing it. Well, I don’t care who is doing it; it’s abnormal behavior. And the fact that our president is engaging in abnormal behavior should be a red flag to everyone in the country, but nobody seems to be paying attention. BOB FROM SHARON HILL
BLAME SUNOCO
I certainly hope “Even Steven” is being sarcastic about Sunoco suing the homeowners – because it’s pretty witty if they are – but if they’re not being sarcastic then they’re as stupid as the day is long. The Mariner East 2 pipeline was not even thought of before these people built their houses. So the houses are not in right of way, it’s at Sunoco who is infringing on these people’s houses, not the other way around.
JUST TYPICAL
An article in the Times noted that Scott Wagner wants the death penalty for school shooters – a typical stupid Republican response that does nothing to address the gun problem in our country. It’s like closing the barn door after the horses escape. But this is typical of Republicans, not only in our state but across the country. These people have no logical solutions to anything. Everything they try to say is a solution actually adds to the problem.
THAT’S THE PROBLEM
Anybody who thinks that assault weapons and high-capacity magazines shouldn’t be banned is too mentally unstable to own a gun. The problem with this is, these are the very same people who own assault weapons and highcapacity magazines
