Ann Elizabeth Rountree

Ann Elizabeth Rountree, 85, of Willow Street, PA, died on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Lakeside of Willow Valley.

Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Linwood and Elsie Cavalier Rountree.

Upon graduating from Towson State Teachers College, she taught elementary school. After moving to Pennsylvania, she completed her Master’s Degree at Temple University and became a Reading Specialist at the Chichester School District in Delaware County for 37 years. Ann took early retirement from teaching in 1990 and moved to The Lakes at Willow Valley. Stenciling, reading, antiquing and camping were some of her favorite interests.

Over the years, Ann had been actively involved in teaching Ladies’ Bible Studies and working with Pioneer Girls at Faith Community Church in Brookhaven, PA and at Grace Baptist Church in Lancaster, PA.

Ann is survived by a sister, Alice Hancock (Carl) of Woodbine, MD, nieces and nephews.

Ann’s interment took place at Lorraine Park Cemetery in Woodlawn, MD on March 1, 2018.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Ann’s Celebration of Life Memorial Service at Lakes Auditorium, Willow Valley Lakes Manor, 300 Willow Valley Lakes Drive, Willow Street, PA on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. A light luncheon will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Ann’s memory to Grace Baptist Church, 1899 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17603.
