Katharine Hayes Porter

Katharine Hayes Porter, 88, passed away Feb. 24, 2018, with loving family members around her.

She was the daughter of the late James and Katharine Hayes.

A graduate of Swarthmore High School and Bradford Junior College in MA, with an Assoc. degree in art, Kathy attended the Phila. School of Art(Universtiy of the Arts). She then taught drawing and painting at Walllingford Community Arts Center for more than 50 years.

Kathy married William F. (Bill) Porter in 1952 and resided in Rose Valley Pa. for 54 years. In 2009 they moved to White Horse Village.

Kathy is survived by daughters Katharine Porter (Dan) Gregory, and Marjorie Porter (Dave) Stoddard; grandchildren Kate Gregory, Tim (Danielle) Stoddard, Dan Stoddard, Amy (Jonathan) Hennigh; one great-grandson Ethan Porter Stoddard; brothers Jim (Libby) and John Hayes; and many loving nieces and nephews. Her husband Bill passed away in 2010. Memorial service: Friday, March 9, 2018, 2:00, Swarthmore Presbyterian Church, 727 Harvard Ave., Swarthmore, 19081. Reception to follow.
