Romolini scores, Springfield doesn’t look back
Kevin Brown registered a hat trick and two assists to lead No. 4 Springfield to a 7-3 victory over 13th-seeded West Chester Henderson in a Flyers Cup Class A first-round game Monday at IceWorks in Aston.
The Cougars broke a 1-1 tie after the first period with five unanswered goals in the second. Geno Romolini netted the go-ahead goal 27 seconds into the period.
Dylan DeAngelo added two goals and Tommy Valvano supplied a pair of helpers for the Cougars. Alex Holloway also lit the lamp and goalie Lachlan Plummer made 36 saves.
Springfield plays No. 5 Hershey in the quarterfinal round Wednesday at 7:30 at IceWorks.
