NOTHING GOOD HERE

“Here Comes Donnie” says that Donald Trump had a pretty decent run last year, policy-wise. Either “Here Comes Donnie” is one of the top 1 percent in this country or “Here Comes Donnie” is stupid, because the only policies that Trump has enacted over his first year helped nobody but the rich. And all the regulations he’s rolling back are hurting everybody in the country – not just the poor, but the rich, too. But “Here Comes Donnie” is such an idiot, they think Trump’s policies are good.

HEY, ROSIE!

Somebody really needs to distract Trump with another celebrity feud before this protectionist tariff trade war nonsense goes on any further.

DON’T BLAME WORKING PARENTS

Last week’s column on mass shootings and children was the first time I don’t agree 100 percent with Chris Freind. I was a parent who worked and my husband worked. I got home at 3, picked my kids up from school. They played outside for an hour. Their father got home at 4. I did homework with the kids and he finished the preparation of the meal. But I do think that television and the video games and your neighborhood has a lot to do with it. If the other children in the neighborhood are not being taken care of like your children are, then I think that’s a bad thing. So I don’t agree that the parents working has anything to do with this, unless you’re not a good parent, which we were. I have one with the Ph.D. and one who’s an attorney, so that works for me.

JUST CALL THEM BRIBES

I’m tired of hearing everybody referring to the swamp in Washington. The right word is “the home of the lobbyist.” Every president that comes into office says they’re going to drain the swamp, get rid of the lobbyists, and by the time they leave office there are more lobbyists in Washington than it was when they went in. Another good word for lobbyist is “people who take who offer bribes” and the politicians “people that take the bribes.” That’s what the swamp is full of. Get rid of the lobbyists and the swamp will be drained. BOB

WHO ARE THE PATRIOTS?

“Boothwyn” says that the Olympics were unpatriotic. “Boothwyn” is so stupid they don’t realize that they and everybody like them are all unpatriotic for voting for and for supporting Donald Trump, who is absolutely the most unpatriotic president this country has ever had and probably one of the most unpatriotic people who has ever lived in this country. The guy has absolutely nothing patriotic in his entire life, including anything in his presidency. And to support somebody that unpatriotic makes you unpatriotic, too. ONE WHO KNOWS

MORE PRO-GUN NONSENSE

“Understand Your Gun” says that the letter to the editor by Dan McMonigle had intelligent thought in it. It was nothing but a screed by a gun nut in our country who was trying to portray the AR-15 as a harmless gun. Who are these people kidding? The AR-15 should be banned according to our best military officers in the country, which David McMonigle is not one of.

FRINGE ON TOP

Once again, I saw a story by the AP that referred to Breitbart as conservative. You cannot make Breitbart mainstream. Breitbart is extreme right-wing fringe, and to paint them as mainstream gives them the right-wing fringe legitimacy that they shouldn’t have. Breitbart is not mainstream and never will be mainstream, so classify them as being an extreme fringe media outlet, please.

OH CANADA

In a guest column, Michael Stumo, CEO of the Coalition for a Prosperous America, says President Trump is right to impose tariffs on steel imports. And in his guest column, he goes on to say how China is hurting us with their production of steel. But we don’t import most of our steel from China, we import most of or steel from our neighbor and socalled friend, Canada. If you want to keep friendly relations with Canada, steel tariffs are not going to do that. But Mr. Stumo refuses to acknowledge any of this.
