John “Jack” J. Kelly, Sr.
John “Jack” J. Kelly, Sr., 81 of Collingdale, PA, formerly of Southwest Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2018, just one day shy of his 82nd birthday.
Born and raised in Philadelphia; he was the son of the late Edward and Catherine (Kenny) Kelly and was preceded in death by his siblings, Anna, Edward, Thomas, and Sister Dolores Immaculate, IHM.
Jack was a graduate of Good Shepherd Grade School and a 1954 graduate of West Catholic High School for Boys. He held various jobs through the years at Pioneer, Food Fair, Cumberland Farms, AVA, Pierce-Leahy and Sunoco.
Loving father of Thomas, John (MaryEllen) Kelly, Sister Connie Kelly, OP, AnneMarie (Richard) Welch, Bernard (Jennifer) and Richard Kelly. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren with another on the way in addition to many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews and great grandnieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Thursday, March 8th, 7:00-9:00 PM at Cavanagh Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood, and again Friday morning 8:30-9:30 AM at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 500 Woodlawn Avenue, Collingdale. Burial will be at S.S. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield, PA. Jack always had that Irish twinkle in his eyes, a great sense of humor and truly enjoyed a good story or joke. Please remember him by sharing his legacy and make someone smile.
