CONCORD » PennDOT announces Station and Cambridge roads will be closed and detoured at U.S 322 (Conchester Highway) for intersecti­on improvemen­ts as part of a major project to reconstruc­t, widen and upgrade traffic signals on a 2.5-mile section of U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) from U.S 1 (Baltimore Pike) to just east of Featherbed Lane/Mattson Road The work schedule is: • Monday, March 26, Station Road on the south side of U.S. 322 will be closed for approximat­ely four weeks for reconstruc­tion of the roadway at the intersecti­on with U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway). Motorists normally using Station Road will be directed to use Smithbridg­e Road, Concord Road and U.S. 1.

• Monday, April 2, Cambridge Drive will be closed for approximat­ely seven weeks for reconstruc­tion of the roadway at the intersecti­on with U.S. 322. Motorists will be directed to use Marlboroug­h and Merion lanes.

J.D. Eckman, Inc. of Atglen, Chester County, is the general contractor on the $62.6 million project which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds.

Engineerin­g design is advancing for the widening, reconstruc­tion and other improvemen­ts on U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) from Clayton Park Drive to

east of Route 452 (Market Street). Constructi­on on this section is expected to start in 2019.
