CONCORD » PennDOT announces Station and Cambridge roads will be closed and detoured at U.S 322 (Conchester Highway) for intersection improvements as part of a major project to reconstruct, widen and upgrade traffic signals on a 2.5-mile section of U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) from U.S 1 (Baltimore Pike) to just east of Featherbed Lane/Mattson Road The work schedule is: • Monday, March 26, Station Road on the south side of U.S. 322 will be closed for approximately four weeks for reconstruction of the roadway at the intersection with U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway). Motorists normally using Station Road will be directed to use Smithbridge Road, Concord Road and U.S. 1.
• Monday, April 2, Cambridge Drive will be closed for approximately seven weeks for reconstruction of the roadway at the intersection with U.S. 322. Motorists will be directed to use Marlborough and Merion lanes.
J.D. Eckman, Inc. of Atglen, Chester County, is the general contractor on the $62.6 million project which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds.
Engineering design is advancing for the widening, reconstruction and other improvements on U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) from Clayton Park Drive to
east of Route 452 (Market Street). Construction on this section is expected to start in 2019.
