Samuel “Hutch” Grey Hutchison of Boynton Beach, Florida passed away March 10, 2018.

Born to the late Westwood Grey Hutchison and Catherine Moore Hutchison Beck in Ridley Park 1933.

Grey was unselfishl­y devoted to his family, faith, community and coworkers. He graduated from Ridley Park High School in 1951. He was a member of Ridley Park Presbyteri­an Church, where he served as a Trustee.

Grey retired as a Refinery Mechanic from Sun Oil Refinery in Marcus Hook, Pa after 39 years of service. He was President of O.C.A.W. , Local 8-901 Union for 13 years. Grey was on the Board of Southeast United Way. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Grey stood as a Finance Officer and Commander of C.C. Pierce American Legion Post of Ridley Park.

Grey was very active with Ridley Park Borough Council, serving as Chairman of Public Relations, Public Safety, Tax collector and as President of Council for 8 yrs.

In 1999 Grey and his wife Verna sold their house in Ridley Park and made Limetree Village in Boynton Beach, Florida their home. He was an active member of The Faith in United Methodist Church in Boynton Beach. Grey was a participan­t of Boynton Beach American Legion Post 164. During his retirement Grey loved spending time with his family and friends, going to the beach, swimming, fishing, and playing games. Grey and his wife Verna enjoyed traveling and went on over fifty cruises.

Survivors include his wife Verna Uff Hutchison, daughter Rhonda LaGamba (Louis) their son Timothy (Lisa), son Randy Hutchison (Bernadette) their children Joseph and Emily, sister Janet Spicer (John) and 5 great grandchild­ren. He was predecease­d by his stepfather Donald Beck, brother Richard Hutchison, sisters Connie Ross and Cheryl Jones.

Relatives and Friends can celebrate the life of Samuel Grey Hutchison on Saturday March 24th 2018, they are invited to gather from 10-11 am followed by a Memorial Service at 11am at the Ridley Park Presbyteri­an Church, 300 North Swarthmore Avenue, Ridley Park Pa. 19078.

Interment to follow on a later date at South Florida’s Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributi­ons in Samuel Grey’s name can be made to The Ridley Park Presbyteri­an Church at above address.
