SOME ATTITUDE
To “Another Old Man” and other callers, I had to deal with my nephew, his mother, her 3-year-old granddaughter, my wife, and 5-year-old granddaughter until Monday. It was not a manner of manning up. TV TIME
I see Trump was Tweeting about fake news again. The only fake news is what he spends more than eight hours a day watching – Fox News, which isn’t news at all, but rightwing propaganda. And this is more proof that he is unfit for the office of president, because if he was doing his job, he wouldn’t have more than eight hours a day to watch TV of any kind. But somehow he managed to find time, which means he’s not doing his job.
IT’S ALL LIES
So Andy McCabe not only lied under oath but he colluded to set up this special investigation by Mueller. Comey lied under oath and colluded to set up the investigation by Robert Mueller. The whole investigation by Robert Mueller is based on lies, lies, lies. It is time to clean out the top echelon of the FBI – they are all dirty cops.
FRAUD CENTRAL
John Dowd, Trump’s lawyer, says that Bob Mueller should close up the Russia investigation because it’s based on a fraudulent and corrupt document, referring to the Steele dossier. First, the investigation is not based solely on the Steele dossier. Second, the Steele dossier is not fraudulent and corrupt. And third, the only fraud and corruption in this entire investigation is coming from the White House itself.
FLOWERS POWER
Christine Flowers in Sunday’s Times truly outdid herself. Seriously, you need to publish this woman more than just once a week. I’m just grateful that I’m on her Facebook page and I can read her several times a week. She said everything that I want to say and obviously much better because she’s the writer and I’m not. So thank you for publishing her on Sunday and I wish you could get her in two or three more days a week.
JACKPOT!
I thought it was funny how the caller said there are “about 200 people” filing for the primary in what is now the 5th Congressional District. I feel like I’m watching a bunch of people in line trying to get lottery tickets when a big jackpot in coming up.
COMPETENCY
“Lackey Central” says that Hillary Clinton would’ve stood by her incompetent and unethical lackeys if she were elected president. Well, the thing is, Hillary Clinton would’ve gathered competent people who knew what they were doing when they came into the government instead of hiring – as you call them – incompetent lackeys, which is what Trump did. And the reason Trump did this is because he’s incompetent, too. And the reason you voted for Trump is because you’re incompetent, too.
SHOT DOWN
“Not The Time” comes through with a great turn of phrase with “the NRA and their Congressional stooges.” Do you sit around in some coffee shop in Swarthmore with other NPR-listening friends coming up with these sorts of quips to demean the small vocal minority holding this country hostage from commonsense gun legislation? I imagine you must read a lot of French Enlightenment-era political thinkers and satirists like Voltaire to come up with the witty observation that now is not the time to about bridge safety in the aftermath of that collapse. Gee, if only people who think like you were charge. What a forwarding-thinking beacon on a hill this country would be.
