Chester police investigat­e 2 Saturday shootings

CHESTER » City police are investigat­ing two separate shooting incidents that took place in the city Saturday, officials said. Neither shooting was fatal. Police were first called to Crozer Chester Medical Center about 5:42 p.m. for a report of a walk-in gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officers identified the victim as a 19-year-old city resident. The victim told police he was in the area of Pulaski Park, in the 800 block of Hinkson Street, when he heard gunshots and started to run. The victim told officers he then felt pain in his right calf, and realized that he had been shot.

The victims was transporte­d to Crozer by a family member. He is listed in good condition.

About two hours later, just before 9 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of West Third Street for the report of a subject shot. Upon police arrival, they observed the victim, who was later identified as a 22-yearold man. The victim was suffering from a gunshot wound to the back of his head. Paramedics arrived on location, and transport the victim to Crozer Chester Medical Center, where he was treated for his injuries. The victim is listed in critical condition. Police did not release any other details on the shooting.
