THESE KIDS WORK HARD

I disagree with a lot of your callers who say today’s kids are lazy. I know a lot of kids who are hardworking kids that work after school – some work two jobs; some work jobs on weekends. Every restaurant has a load of kids at work and the malls all have stores with kids working. There are a lot of hard-working kids out there. Hats off to them. HENNY THE BARTENDER

STOP WONDERING DAN

To “Just Wondering Dan,” you should have known the reason why we write out the amount of the check as well as printing the numbers back when they taught you in school how to write out a check. Some people don’t print the numbers legibly and could be mistaken for another number. When you write the email now there’s no mistake. LISTENED AND LEARNED

DOO YOUR DUTY

Spring is here and pretty soon it’ll lawn mower time. I’d just like to ask all the dog owners and dog walkers, please have your dogs relieve themselves on your lawn before taking them for a walk. I know there are responsible ones out there who try to clean up, but you still can’t pick up everything. I had my own dog for years and I always let them loose at home first. You can all do the same. POOCH

BLAME IT ON ALAN

To “Mike Drop,” I don’t think you can place the blame squarely on Mike Farrell for ruining “M*A*S*H.” I think a lot of it was when the producers let Alan Alda get more involved behind the scenes and put his hippie nonsense into the show.

GET THE FACTS

To “Bob From Sharon Hill,” before calling anyone a moron, may be you need to realize that your 2017 tax filing has nothing to do with the new tax reform law. Your 2017 refund is based on IRS regulations at that time. Of course, unless you had higher out-of-pocket medical expenses, or as a business, purchased equipment in 2017, and those would give you more tax credits/deductions, ergo, potential higher refund(s). The new tax reform impacts 2018 earnings, wages, and with holdings. I’ll treat you to a cup of coffee, and the IRS regulations, to back up my response. “Bob from Sharon Hill” sounds like another idiotic Muppet in the clueless chorus. It’s “EZ” if you know the facts. STEPHEN IN PROSPECT

IDIOTS LOVE THE RICH

I agree with “Bob From Sharon Hill” about these idiots that passed that tax bill and thought it was great. Listen, idiots anything that the Republicans put up there to vote for are for the rich – not for the working man or poor man. When are you intellectual idiots and halfwits going to rise up about the Republican Party? All they’re for is the rich. VOTE DEMOCRAT

YOU’RE WELCOME

Kudos to Sound Off. You’ve come a long way from traffic lights, trashcans, trains in the middle of the night and fire sirens. You’ve done it in such a short time. I must compliment you for upgrading your little half page of mundane statements that are under the weather. It’s in a good spot, though. The weather matters to some of us, so we get the best of the information all on one page. Thank you so much, Sound Off, for making my day. ONE WHO KNOWS

WHO’S THE MORON?

“Bob From Sharon Hill” must be the moron of morons if he doesn’t know that the new tax bill doesn’t take effect until this tax year, and that 2017 taxes were filed under the old system. He’s the moron. DICK FROM RIDLEY PARK

FACT VS. FICTION

“Conservative Independent Thinker” says it’s a fact that conservatives give more to charities than liberals. How did this caller arrive at this so-called fact? The fact is that so-called conservatives give much less than liberals, even though they make much more than liberals. These people don’t have any sense of community or giving back. They’re greedy reptiles who want to keep everything for themselves. ALSO KNOWS
