Michael L Giamboy, a life-long resident of Boothwyn, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on April 4, 2018.

The youngest of 8 children who survived childbirth, he was a graduate of Chichester High School.

After serving his country in the Navy during World War II, he received his degree in Pharmacolo­gy from The College of the Ozarks in Arkansas. Returning home, he was co-owner of the family business, Holly Oak Pharmacy in Delaware, and then served as staff Pharmacist at Smith’s Pharmacy in Claymont before retiring.

His life’s passion was Horse Racing. As co-owner of Holly Oak Stables, his horses raced & won at all the tracks in the Mid-Atlantic region. When he was not at the track, he spent his days watching and wagering on races on TV while enjoying his daily Manhattans.

He was accompanie­d by a lineage of dogs, the last being his beloved, Tiger.

He was predecease­d by his parents George & Marie (nee Panarello) Giamboy as well as siblings Anthony, William, John, Joseph, Rita, Frank & Annette.

He is survived by sister-in-law Hope Giamboy, nephews, George Brancati (JoAnn), Frank Giamboy, nieces Rosemary Weil (Mike) Katie Ernest (John), great nieces, Gina, Natalie, Carly, and Caroline and great-nephews, Domenic and Drew and cousin Dr. Chris Panarello.

The family would like to recognize the caring & support of the Edward Raikowski family, his in-home caregiver Ann, Bayada Hospice and the staff at Manor Care in Wilmington, especially Wanda.

Calling: Monday, April 9, 2018, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Rigby Funeral Home, 1 West Baltimore Ave. Media, Pa.

Interment private.
