Ray Andrew Neye, 82, of Brookhaven, died early Monday morning, March 19, 2018 at Taylor Hospital, Ridley Park. Ray and his twin brother, Jay, were born Sunday, Feb. 23, 1936 in Valley View. Ray was a son of Arthur C. and Gertie E. Hepler Ney of Valley View.

Ray was a 1954 graduate of the former Hegins Twp. High School, where he served as president and valedictor­ian of his class. He served two years in the U.S. Army, and was stationed for a time in Germany. Upon his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, Ray attended Indiana University of Pennsylvan­ia, Indiana, PA, majoring in art, and graduating in 1960. He acquired his Master’s in Art from Temple University in 1966. He taught Art in the William Penn School District, Delaware County, for more than 30 years. He also taught in Germany for a year. During this time, upon his retirement, Ray traveled extensivel­y throughout Europe. He produced and directed shows for the Society Hill Playhouse in Philadelph­ia. For many years, he was a member of various Art Guilds and Art Societies within the Philadelph­ia area. Ray was a multitalen­ted master artist and craftsman.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, and brothers Vere, Carl, and Warren.

Survivors include: sisters Iris (Peggy) DiGuiseppe, Rita Smith, Anna Mae Roof, twin brother Jay and wife Marie, Larry, Jeanette and husband, Terry Klinger. Ray is also survived by many nieces and nephews, plus many grandniece­s and nephews.

Ray willed his body to science. As Ray requested, there will be no service.
