James Joseph Hayes, age 73 of Broomall, on April 7, 2018.

Survived by his loving wife of 36 years Joanne M. Hayes (nee Marabella), beloved daughter Ryan Elizabeth Zolecki (Todd) and adoring grandson Henri James Zolecki. Son of the late William and Anna Hayes, brothers George Breithaupt, William Hayes (Ruth), Richard Hayes, sister in-law Stefanie Marabella. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and coworkers.

Proud graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School, Jim served his country in the Army Reserve during the Vietnam War. He was a dedicated employee at the Franklin Mint for over 25 years where he developed his love for graphic design and typography.

In 2001, he received the Distinguis­hed Artist Award for creativity, excellence and integrity. After retiring from the Franklin Mint he became a Realtor at Berkshire Hathaway of Bryn Mawr and was employed there at the time of his death.

Jim created the North American Viewing Stone Society and was honored to have President Bill Clinton present one of his Suiseki to the Prime Minister of Japan as a State Gift. He lectured and exhibited his personal collection throughout the country.

Jim was an avid golfer and would be found many evenings enjoying time with friends at Olde Masters Golf Club (Tin Cup). Most importantl­y, Jim was a devoted husband, father and grandfathe­r.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday, April 13th from 12:30-2:00pm at St. Anastasia Church in Newtown Square, PA, immediatel­y followed by a Funeral Mass.
