SPEED BREAK

I remember coming up at a younger age, when governors were installed on commercial vehicles – for truckers, buses, all of them. This needs to be done today. If the system wants to save lives, truck drivers, school bus drivers and commercial bus drivers should not be allowed to have cell phones. Look into this situation; it’s very serious.

BANG THE DRUM

The media crush is working – drama, drama, drama; bang the drums. They’ve everybody spending the money that they don’t have. You know what’s up now? Our national debt. It’s higher than national GDP. You know what that means – that all these kids are borrowing more money than the country’s bringing in. Why do you think the dollar is devalued? Our cell phone says we can get it, so put it in the cart and bring it to the house. I want it and I want it now. What a bunch of idiots.

ALL COLLUSION

We’ve got to stop this Trump – he just got done colluding with the Japanese. We know he colluded with Saudi Arabia and with France and Great Britain to bomb Syria. Now we’ve got to ready because he’s going to collude with that nut from North Korea. What’s wrong with this guy? Why can’t we stop him? They better get moving. Come on, Mueller, and get this investigation moving.

MORALLY BANKRUPT

So now the Comey memos are coming out. So far it looks they never needed to be classified and there doesn’t seem to be much more new to learn about Trump in them. The interesting things are looking closer at that four-day window of Comey talking to Trump about the media possibly reporting on the Steele dossier, then CNN basically reporting on what Comey told Trump in that meeting. There have been people in the Trump administration who were doing bad stuff before the campaign and that should be dealt with now that the Mueller probe uncovered it.

SEE THE LIGHT

To “We Need A Light,” I agree that the Middletown and Valley road intersection can be dangerous at certain times of day. If a light is installed there, though, I hope it wouldn’t be like too many comparable lights where you sit there for minutes and minutes on end late at night with no cars going by.

GET GUS ON IT

To “Played Out In Pa.,” I think the state needs to put Gus the lottery groundhog on the revenue problem. He seems like a pretty straight shooter who knows about raising money for Pennsylvania.

TO THE MOON, ALICE

I had to laugh when the caller signed off as “Ralph Kramden.” I wish answer machines were around back in the 1950s so the episode where they finally get a phone against Ralph’s objections could have ended with him wasting all of his time calling into a Sound Off-type feature in one of those old local Brooklyn papers. ED AND TRIXIE

GOOD NEIGHBORS

To “Get It Right” and their delusions of Chi pride: On the flip side, many in Aston have long been upset at Upper Chi businesses along stretches of the Conchester Highway living off our good name with their postal address, and now the problem is getting worse with it being extended to businesses on Chichester Avenue. Maybe it’s time we call a truce before this goes any further, because if history is any example, the postal service will only make the lines of addresses and local governments more convoluted, not less. Maybe it’s time Griffins and Eagles learn to fly together in harmony.

IT HAPPENED

I don’t know if people like “Dream On” say this stuff for the sake of argument or whether they honestly believe it. You can argue whether businesses gave off bonuses – and started to repatriate money – after the corporate tax rate as a publicity stunt or not, but you can argue whether it happened or not. It did.

ISN’T IT RICH?

I see Mr. Tom in Linwood(?) is talking out his pie hole Republican mouth again. One thing I want to tell you, “Tom,” is rich and Republican go hand in hand, like a glove in a hand. They’re synonymous. Remember that they go hand in hand. So don’t forget that, “Mr. Tom In Linwood.
