- AGAINST SCHOOL TAXES

STOP MEANS STOP

Sharon Hill could probably lower their taxes with the fees that they could impose on cars driving through the stop sign on Poplar Street at Laurel Road. Many cars don’t even slow down. They just drive right on through. I wish there was a camera to record the number of cars that do this. It’s more than three-quarters of them, I think.

DRINK A SHOT

Each time I read an article about the animosity and the anger that’s directed at the NRA, I can’t help but wonder if I had the opportunity to ask a question to people who are spearheading this movement: Hypothetically, if the NRA is banned, are you people honestly naive enough to think that the criminal element in this country is still not going to be able to get their hands on guns? How’d banning alcohol work out?

POOR AND REPUBLICAN

I just read a caller say “rich” and “Republican” are synonymous. Let me get this straight – the Kennedys, the Kerrys, the Clintons, I think they were Democrats and that they are pretty rich. I, on the other hand, I’m not rich. I work for everything I have and I’ll continue to work. And I’m a Republican, because I think they’re the better party. God bless you.

WHEN CHARLIE RAN DELCO

To “The Butterfly Net,” say what you want about Charlie Saxton, he was a Republican, but I’ll say this: When he ran the county, the county was thriving. You could drive anywhere without potholes on every main street. The police forces didn’t need a Narcan kit in every car. Things were good then, but you weren’t around then – we can tell you. You probably wear sneakers when you go to church, if you go to church at all. Don’t knock what you don’t know, and you don’t know Charlie Saxton. You’re just showing your ignorance. Thank you, and have a nice day.

GIVE SENIORS A FREE RIDE

I do believe that senior citizens over the age of 75 and incomes less than $23,000 for a couple, $19,000 for a single person, should not have to pay school taxes. I believe there comes a limit as to what seniors are expected to do. Nineteen thousand dollars sounds like a lot of money, but when you try and live on it, or less than that, it’s next to impossible. Twenty-three thousand for a couple is even more impossible, and yet the school districts keep raising taxes, wanting to educate our children – I guess you call it education – in the finest of circumstances. Seniors should not be forced to pay school taxes.

BLAME THE MEDIA

I agree with “Children Running Amok.” One thing that bugged me after the Florida shooting was the media putting the shooter’s name and picture all over – playing into the infamy that studies have shown mass shooters want. But somehow everything’s the NRA’s fault, right?

SAY WHAT?

You know it’s bad when you can’t tell if “Tom-Foolery” is making fun of our leftist friends who call in with nothing but insults to say, or if this is one of our leftist friends calling in to insult someone and say they should be disenfranchised because they complained about callers like this.

PUSHED TO EXTREMES

To show how extreme the Republican Party has become, Mitt Romney has been criticized by Republicans for being too moderate. Mitt Romney is not a moderate. However, apparently he’s not fringy enough for the rest of the party. That is how extreme the Republican Party has become.

LAUGH RIOT

I would like an explanation for “Comic Relief.” What’s the difference between Sound Off and the comics?

TRUMP WILL SOLVE EVERYTHING

To “Silly Question,” you want to know how stupid this man Trump is? I’ll tell you how stupid he is: He’s smart enough that after, as you say, decades of bad relations with Korea, he finally had the guts to go and meet with this man and try to straighten it out.
